1956 Fifth International Philatelic Exhibition

Imperforated Souvenir Sheet: In a salute to the Fifth International Philatelic Exhibition (FIPEX) the Postal Department issued this souvenir sheet on April 28, 1956. The Exhibition opened the newly completed Coliseum at Columbus Circle in New York City where stamp, photography, and auto exhibitions were held simultaneously. The souvenir sheet contained enlarged reproduction of the 1954 Statue of Liberty stamps in their original colors.
